Gitaar globetrotter Joep Pelt rediscovers the blues en folk revival of the 1960s through his hero, the ultimate musical discoverer Alan Lomax.
Thousands of field recordings where made by Alan Lomax (1915-2002) of unknown blues and folk artists, which basically made him the discoverer of music greats such as Muddy Waters, Leadbelly en Woody Guthrie. The musical geniuses of the 1960s such as Bob Dylan, The Rolling Stones and Brian Wilson took these ‘field recordings’ to a mass audience which generated a lasting influence on the development of popular music.
Joep travels from the record collection of his father through the Caribbean to the deep south of the USA, to map out and experience the immense legacy of Alan Lomax his life work. Though personal stories and acoustic songs Joep will take the audience to the land where the blues began.
